Loudoun Elected Leaders Stand United in Support of Barbara Comstock for Congress

October 10, 2014

The Loudoun County Republican Committee was proud to have several members of the Committee join Virginia 10th Congressional District candidate Barbara Comstock at the Loudoun County Courthouse in Leesburg on Wednesday.

Kristen Kalina, Vice Chairwoman of the LCRC attended the event. "Support for Barbara Comstock is growing exponentially across this county. At the same time, support for Barbara's opponent, Fairfax Supervisor John Foust, is falling. Last night, the DCCC announced it was withdrawing $2.8 million in previously promised support for Foust in order to help a Democrat incumbent in California. I'm not surprised. He has insulted every working mom in this county. In contrast, Barbara is the kind of compassionate commonsense conservative leader who will focus on the everyday issues that matter to American families. I am going to be so proud to call Barbara Comstock my Congresswoman, the only woman on Capitol Hill from the Virginia Delegation."

"I've been a resident of Loudoun County for over a decade, and I find Barbara Comstock's campaign incredibly energizing," said Will Estrada, Issues Committee Chairman for the LCRC, and an attendee at the event. "She is bringing together people from all parties, faiths, backgrounds, and walks of life with her energetic, positive campaign. She will be a voice on Capitol Hill for every person in Loudoun. Her conservative message is resonating with voters here in Loudoun, and I am excited to see all of Loudoun's GOP elected leadership supporting Barbara in her race for Congress."

Congressman Frank Wolf who has served Loudoun County in Congress since 1980, made the following statement: "I've known and worked with Barbara for more than 25 years. She knows how to bring people together to get things done. She's not afraid of hard work or taking on tough issues. She's one of the hardest working members of the General Assembly and will be one of the hardest working Members of Congress."

Delegate Comstock released the following statement: "We all understand that our representatives need to come together to get results that will create jobs and put people back to work, reform healthcare, and restore our military strength and stop the sequester cuts that are harming our national security and local economy. Earlier this year, Loudoun County was named the best county to live, work, and play in the country. I look forward to continuing to work with our state and local officials, as well as our business, educational, and philanthropic communities to ensure that Loudoun County and the 10th District remains one of the best places to live in the country."

Barbara Comstock is currently a member of the House of Delegates serving McLean, Great Falls, and parts of Vienna and Loudoun County. Comstock was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates in 2009 and re-elected in 2011 and 2013. She currently serves as the Chairwoman of the Science and Technology Committee and is the only woman serving as a Chairman in the House of Delegates. She also serves on the Transportation, and Commerce & Labor Committees. Comstock previously served as a senior aide to Congressman Frank Wolf, a senior Justice Department official, a senior partner in a law firm and a small business owner. She has lived in McLean, VA for the past 33 years where she raised her three children with her husband, Chip.
