RNC Statement on the Anniversary of September 11th

September 11, 2013

WASHINGTON - Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus and RNC Co-Chairman Sharon Day released the following statement on September 11th:

"Today, as we mark the twelfth anniversary of the September 11th attacks on our nation, we pause to remember the innocent lives lost in the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, and in a field in Pennsylvania," said Chairman Priebus. "We also honor those who bravely risked their lives to save others-the first responders who rushed into the wreckage and the patriots on Flight 93 who said, 'Let's roll.' We will always remember both the victims and the heroes of that day.

"In the face of terrorism, courageous men and women stepped forward to defend our nation from evil at home and abroad, and we remain steadfastly grateful for their service to our country."

"This somber anniversary reminds us to embrace the values we hold dear," said Co-Chairman Day. "We were attacked for our American ideals of freedom, opportunity, and equality. But in the aftermath, we stood together even more united in our belief in liberty."

"May God continue to bring peace to the families of the victims and heroes of September 11th, and may God always bless America."
