Statement in Response to the Democratic Primary Results
Mark Sell, Chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee, issued the following statement in response to the results of today's Democratic primary:
"The statewide and local Democratic ticket is now set for the fall - and not surprisingly, it consists of candidates for Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and Delegate who fully share their national party's vision of bigger, more expensive and more intrusive government and less freedom and opportunity for Virginians.
"Ralph Northam, Mark Herring and their Delegate candidates join, in the words of the New York Times, 'political rainmaker, carnival barker and Clinton appendage' Terry McAuliffe, who took government money and ran to create jobs - in Mississippi - but failed miserably even with government subsidies.
"The people of Loudoun County are fully justified in wondering why they would want to turn their Commonwealth back over to Democrat mismanagement on that scale after four years of job creation, balanced budgets and real solutions to Virginia's problems.
"That is especially the case given Loudouners' familiarity with one member of the Democratic ticket - Attorney General candidate Mark Herring - who was last seen blocking a desperately needed judicial appointment here in our County, worsening a case backlog that has proven the adage, 'justice delayed is justice denied,' and heightening his record of near-invisibility when it comes to meeting the needs of his constituents.
"Loudoun Republicans look forward to another overwhelming victory this fall behind our accomplished statewide and local tickets of Ken Cuccinelli, E.W. Jackson, Mark Obenshain, Barbara Comstock, Tag Greason, Dave LaRock, Jim LeMunyon, Randy Minchew, David Ramadan and Tom Rust."
