The "Wolf Pack" comes to the Leesburg Halloween Parade

October 31, 2010

The Loudoun County Republican Committee teamed up with Congressman Frank Wolf's campaign team and Delegate Joe May to put forth an impressive showing at Leesburg's annual Halloween parade Sunday evening.

Over 60 activists braved the cold air and stiff breeze to gather in Ida Lee field late in the afternoon. They donned Frank Wolf for Congress shirts and went to work decorating our floats.

Led by Eve Marie Barner Gleason, Chair of the Loudoun County Young Republicans, the team assembled and inflated our elephant, taped "Wolf for Congress" signs to the floats, and put up American flags, which flew proudly in the stiff breeze.

We then gathered for the obligatory pre-parade photo

As the parade made its way down King Street in downtown Leesburg the Wolf Pack went to work.

Three of our team led our section by carrying a large "Wolf for Congress" banner. A few dozen Wolf Pack volunteers followed them carrying signs to complement their Wolf shirts. Hollering slogans like "Frank Wolf for Congress!" "Fire Nancy Pelosi!" and "Vote Republican on Tuesday!" they fired up our supporters in the crowd, who cheered enthusiastically at our arrival.

Mingled with this team were volunteers who distributed candy to the children along the route. Team Wolf had purchased a substantial amount of candy so there was plenty for all.

Riding on our floats were also a dozen or so Wolf Pack volunteers and children, who also waved to the crowd. Despite the breeze, our elephant mascot held up well, having been tied down quite securely.

The election will be upon us shortly, and the Wolf Pack looks forward to a day of staffing the polls in Loudoun County. If you would like to volunteer for a few hours but have not yet done so contact
