It has been 20 years, and for some, September 11, 2001 is as raw now as ever. Those tragic images of our fellow Americans forever haunt our collective memory.
On this day and everyday, we must remember our brave first responders who climbed stairs when everyone else ran down them; who tended the wounded who held sobbing loved ones. We must remember our courageous service men and women who deployed oversees to handle business after we were attacked who joined the Armed Services to fight those who sought to destroy us; who paid the ultimate price. We must remember that the freedoms we enjoy in this Country terrify others in the world so much that they crashed airplanes into our citizens. And we must remember that the preservation of those freedoms, and of America as we know it, is up to us.
