Endorsed Candidates Win May 1, 2018 Elections

LEESBURG, VA (May 1, 2018) - The Loudoun County Republican Committee is proud to congratulate two local candidates they endorsed who were newly elected town council members.

The LCRC endorsed two candidates in local races: Joel Grewe and Michael Dunlap. Joel Grewe, town councilman elect in Purcellville, Virginia, ran on a platform of bringing transparency and fiscal responsibility to town government. Grewe was elected with 941 votes, close to "Tip" Stinnette's 946 votes. Michael Dunlap ran in a special election for Lovettsville town council and won election with 498 votes.

Election turnout was particularly high in Purcellville, with over 1700 voters turning up to the polls.

"We were proud to endorse candidates in local elections," said Jim Bonfils, chairman of the LCRC, "We believe that local elections truly impact people's quality of life, and we are confident that Grewe and Dunlap will represent their constituents with integrity."
