LCRC Calls On Attorney General Herring To Accept Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce's Debate Invitation
Loudoun County, Virginia - In response to news that Mark Herring has yet to accept the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce's invitation for a debate with Republican nominee John Adams, the same debate he participated in when he ran four years ago, the Loudoun County Republican Committee issued the following statement:
"The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce is one of the most respected organizations in Northern Virginia, and Mark Herring had no qualms about participating in this debate four years ago," said Will Estrada, Chairman of the Loudoun County Republican Committee. "Perhaps instead of only showing up when it suits his personal political ambitions, our Democrat Attorney General ought to find time to devote to Loudoun - the very area that put his name on the map."
"With Ralph Northam utterly silent on Ed Gillespie's challenge to 10 gubernatorial debates across Virginia, it's no surprise to see Mark Herring following suit," said Anthony DeFazio, Executive Director of the Loudoun County Republican Committee.
The Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce has extended an offer to host an attorney general debate between Republican John Adams and Democrat Mark Herring in October. While Adams has already accepted, Herring has so far refused to do so. The Loudoun County Republican Committee calls on Mark Herring to follow John Adams' lead in accepting the invitation and giving the citizens of Loudoun County the debate they deserve.
